In None

It will be November soon. The elections are around the corner, and when that day comes, we will have won some and lost other battles. We’ve helped campaigns for our candidates and other Democratic nominees who may not be what we wanted but are far better than the alternative.

We know we have obstacles, but the message could have been more explicit.  The party should have uplifted candidates and supporters in the community, who do not appear as a circus tent every time there are elections but are constantly there.

We’ve been doing this because we love our community and all people. Love is the only reason this sacrifice makes sense.

That implies that we love those who think differently. The people sick on the streets, and those experiencing homelessness, we love them, and for those who fight against us, we do this for them too.  We also want them to be healthy, happy, free, prosperous, and safe.  We want Education, Justice, and opportunities for all. We want all of us to have clean, pure air and water and enjoy this world’s beauty.

Loving is a risk. We have lived months in electoral mode and sacrificed family, work, friends, money, and the most valuable thing we have: time. Loving is a bet without guarantee or expectation of being reciprocated. We love in such a way that even if we lost a single battle, we would continue. We know that with every door, we advance this movement.

And in this movement, we also fight for people we don’t know. I know you’re tired, so lean on us. As long as you are in the fight, you will never be alone because we will be next to you to support and love you.

Until the Victory, Always.

Love and Solidarity
